There are seven London Boroughs with grammar schools using an 11 plus admissions procedure. One of these is Kingston upon Thames. Parents will need to submit the Common Application Form (CAF) to their own local authority listing any school below and all of their other preference schools in their order of preference irrespective of the Borough/County in which the school is located.

Date of Exam: Stage 1 tests - October. Stage 2 tests for those invited - November
Type of Exam: The Stage 1 English test will be a multiple-choice test. The Stage 1 maths test will be made up of different question types: some may be multiple choice, some will require your daughter to record her numerical answer. Stage 1 tests answers are recorded on an Optical Mark Reading (OMR) answer sheet. The Stage 2 tests are in English and maths. They require written answers and some questions on the English paper will require longer written answers. The papers are set and marked by the school.
Further information: For all tests, the raw scores are standardised and age-weighted. The Combined Mark will be made up of 60% English and 40% Maths. The English mark will come from the Stage 2 test, and the Maths mark will come from the Stage 2 test and the Stage 1 test in a ratio of 3:1.
