Further details with regard to the application process and the assessment arrangements will be made available in the next few weeks.
Please note: All primary schools in Northern Ireland have been sent information about AQE's plans for a Common Entrance Assessment, which will be available from the 2009-10 academic year. The information pack sent to primary schools is now available to view or download from this website.
The AQE Website has been developed to assist schools, parents, governors and other interested educational partners who are interested in retaining an academic strand to the educational provision in Northern Ireland. Background information related to the rationale behind the formation of AQE is provided.
It is hoped that you find the site easy to browse and the information easy to locate.
For a number of years a team has been working to advocate a form of selection based on Computer Adaptive Testing which would address many of the criticisms of the 11+ Transfer Procedure. The information provided via this website is current at the time of publication, is subject to change and will be updated on a daily basis as new developments come on line. The guidance is as detailed as possible.
Information is set out in various relevant sections and can be located by selecting from the titles at the top of this Home Page: Contact Us, Implementation Timetable, Draft Registration Forms, CEA: Special Circumstances, CEA Specification, CEA: Sample Test Items and CEA: A Guide for Parents.
